my life

I have a huge passion for life. From family and friends to sports and music as well as volunteering and traveling, my life consists of a kaleidoscope of experiences. I truly believe that I can learn anything from anyone and any experience in my life. Often a cliché statement, my life WOULD be absolutely worthwhile if I make a positive influence and change someone’s life for the better.

Born and raised between the beautiful Gulf Islands and Vancouver, I now live on the North Shore close to the water and mountains. I love it here. My big passion in life is traveling. I have traveled to over fifty countries spreading over five continents. I feel blessed for the opportunity to see the world and experience different cultures, food, languages and to meet new friends.

I have the most incredible parents and two loving sisters (and bro-in-laws) as well as a very spoiled but loyal cocker spaniel. My friends come from many different backgrounds and cultures and maintain different values and lifestyles. With them, my life is ever-changing and exciting, so thank you for your trust, loyalty and friendships.

Physical and recreational activities have always been a part of my life. I live for the outdoors and love kayaking, camping and hiking. Swimming, tennis and running have been gradually replaced with more contact sports including ice hockey, roller hockey, ultimate and snowboarding. I also like extreme sports and would give anything a go at least once.

Music is a huge part of my life. I began playing the violin at age three and the trumpet at age thirteen. Someday, I plan to compose a music score for a Hollywood movie. I love listening to all types of music from alternative to jazz to classical to pop and to rock.

I have been an active volunteer for the community, hospital and health care services for many years. My volunteer experiences have ranged from public education forums on AIDS, organizing special events and conferences, and comforting the elderly and terminally ill children. I have learned to enjoy life to the fullest through these experiences.

My motto in life has always been: We only get one chance, so live your life to the fullest everyday and don’t be afraid to take chances. Give to those who need your help and time, and when it comes to relationships, you never know unless you give it a try.
